Hi everyone. I'm running a game jam where the goal is to make audiogames. Audiogames are playable with audio only, so can be played by people with sight loss. Hopefully we can raise some money for the Royal National Institute for the Blind, a UK based charity supporting people with sight loss.

It's my first time organising a game jam event so I appreciate any advice you all may have. It's running through gamejolt at http://jams.gamejolt.io/AGJam.

Just a small update. I did a segment on RNIB Connect Radio on Audiogame Jam which you can listen to here: https://audioboom.com/boos/4910208-audio-game-jam.

We're still looking for devs to participate. It starts on the 26th of August and ends on the 5th of September. If you're looking for people to team up with I'd recommend using the AGJam forum, which you will find here: http://agjam.freeforums.net.

I'm working with RNIB Scotland to have some of the final submissions displayed at Techshare Europe 2016, an accessible technology conference held on September 15-16 that will have speakers from Apple, Microsoft, Netflix, Samsung and more.

If you have any questions I'm happy to answer them.

This is a fantastic idea, by the way. It's a bit soul-crushing there hasn't been more interest! Sad

I've been posting about Audiogame Jam in as many places as I can think of, and while it wasn't as big as other game jams it garnered enough attention to have 16 submitted games. The lack of responses here wasn't unique, as many of the places I posted about it had little or no respondents. That doesn't necessarily mean that n-one from this or other message boards took part, but it is nice to have responses and shows of interest so that you can go into the jam confident you'll see some games submitted by the end.

It ended on Monday, and you're all invited to come play the games and give feedback to the developers. Donations to RNIB are also very much appreciated, and we have a JustGiving page to make it easy for anyone to donate. It's quick, secure and lets anyone see how well AGJam did in its fundraising.
