Hey there folks,

I'm not a TIG forum regular, more of a lurker. But I've been working on a project since a few months that may interest some of you.

This project is a website called gameDev.4sl and it is dedicated to selling and buying unfinished video game projects. If you put months or years on a project but have no motivation, no time or no money to finish it, this website will help you selling the ownership of your game project and pass the torch to someone else.

For other people on the other hand, it can be useful to buy an unfinished project to start off a solid base. This is also a good way to cut development costs and to find decent game ideas to work on and publish.

The whole website will be built on a vote and auction system. It is us, actors of the video game industry, who will vote if a project is worth an auction or not. Then, the price of your project will be fixed during this auction. This way, we can be sure that buyers will have quality projects and sellers will be rewarded on the quality of their work.

For the moment, the website is in closed alpha and we are planning a closed beta by the end of the month. People who subscribed to our newsletter will be the first one to test the website. So, if you are interested, please check gameDev.4sl and subscribe, you will be the first one notified when our next version is out!

See you guys! Beer!

Interesting idea!

Much of the value of an unfinished project is dependent on how much work is required to finish it. How is a bidder to estimate this, without access to the code base? If a project is abandoned, then chances are there is a reason for it. It might be that the creator is burned out, or the code might be an unmaintainable, sphaghetti nightmare.

Will playable builds be made available?

Signed up for the newsletter. Looks like a great concept. How do you deal with transferring Intellectual Property?
