Hello people,

I present to you a game that I have been working on. In short, it's a Thrust clone.

Download: https://kometbomb.itch.io/gravitus-minus
NES-style booklet: http://kometbomb.net/gravitus/Gravitus-Minus-Instruction-Booklet-rev3.pdf

Some cool features:

  • Basically a modernized version of Thrust (I love that game)
  • Comes with an "Easy Mode" for those who don't get the thrust-n-rotate kind of thing
  • Chiptune music from n00bstar (actually made with a software synth I wrote for this game)
  • "Challenges", i.e. mini-achievements
  • Online high score list

I am currently working on extra levels, I have a ton of unused features like triggered events (stuff falls from the ceiling, enemies appear etc.) that are not used at all in the current version.

You can download it for free at itch.io, it's available for Windows and Linux at the moment.

This looks like some maddeningly frustrating Solar Jetman styled gameplay

I'll have to get it

Truly a trailer-worthy quote. Smiley I hope you like the game!

I added a trailer with very nice chiptune music in the original post if you are into that sort of thing.

I made a little A6-sized instruction booklet just like NES games had: http://kometbomb.net/gravitus/Gravitus-Minus-Instruction-Booklet-rev3.pdf

Recorded a new demo for the attract mode and added some captions that hopefully explain the gameplay in case you don't want to read the manual (of course you don't).
