hunters had good multiplayer deathmatch. this...doesn't appear to have a deathmatch mode, so  ?? i dont know its purpose |

The big deal isn't federation force really, people rage because of other M and further downplaying of samus as a main character. Internet drama. NObody expect the game to be bad, they are worried it mean the end of their franchise identity and the end of it period, it's the same drama as with the megaman community.

also the singleplayer campaign was about as exciting as a wet fart in a bottle (i.e. not very) |

unbalanced for fuckin sure (free for all was the default, even) and totally broken beyond that once hackers found their way in (it never got patched at all), but fun as Heck. which is what matters imo above all. i'd love a balanced version in 2016 but alas no fps, even ones that are technically better and way more balanced, has nailed what hunters did quite so well. closest is either destiny or halo 5 but those only go like 70% of the way there reeeeally good map design too. nothing quite like hunters. i spent hours and hours and hours playing that on line. singleplayer was garbage, though. |

(ppl forget that metroid doesn't enjoy the same popularity in its mother country and japanese gamers don't like playing as a girl if she's not an aggressively sexualized child)
