I'm confused. As much as I'm looking forward to Fez, how and when did Phil Fish become this industry expert whose words and opinions have actual impact and cause this kind of drama? He doesn't like Japanese games. Fair enough. What's the big deal?

He didn't call just the "indie" games bad (which would be slightly more understandable, even if it would still prove that he hasn't been paying any attention and/or has bad/superficial taste), he said that Japanese modern games were bad in general and later clarified this from what I saw on his Twitter. |

There's nothing wrong with criticizing a subset of game development. It's a problem if you do it without a bit of tact, and you kind of ostracize one poor guy. I've been to panels, when you go up to ask a question you have the whole rooms eyes on you and it's a lot of pressure for someone who just wants to ask a question. Maybe it's a little different at other conventions, but all the eyes tend to be on a guy dressed up as Eridan Ampora asking about the role of women in video games. I feel kind of bad that the one guy got strung up like that, I think that's probably the worst thing here is that it sound like Fish fired back immediately by just saying THE PROBLEM IS YOU SUCK. I'd like to know if anything he said afterwards had any merit to it, I'm sure the creator of just had a fucking treasure trove of fantastic things to say to make up for him sounding like a complete jackass. I'M SURE HE IS IN NO WAY OUT OF TOUCH AND IS NOT BE A COMPLETE SNOB. NOPE NOPE NOPE. NARY AN OVERGENERALIZATION HERE. Still, I'd like to hear exactly what he had to say, if only because I know I can get even more laughs out of it.
