At least we have good news - Samtagonist is back. I missed his scathing yet on-topic snark.
With him and Gimmy posting again, it's like the whole family came home for the holidays!

As soon as you play it you receive 100% more junk mail and start writing chain letters to family and friends.

Film studio Emmett/Furla has confirmed that they will work on a live action version of Hungry Hungry Hippos, along with Monopoly (game) and Action Man. From wikipedia.

I can't think of a way to make Hungry Hungry Hippos into a movie without it being a horror flick.
The screen rolls over a devastated town. Buildings collapsed, cars crushed, greenery ripped from the ground.
A woman's voice speaks, grave with a hint of fear. "They came so suddenly... we couldn't get out in time. They... they ate everything."
The next shot is four brightly colored hippopotamus trundling over a hilltop, pausing briefly as they crest the peak to pan the camera over an innocent suburb that will soon be laid to waste. The screen fades to black.
"Hungry Hungry Hippos" appears in big bold text. Beneath it is the tagline, "This time, it's no game."

They could make it into an alien movie, like they did with Battleship. Giant balls are attacking the Earth, so humanity creates Super-Hippos, giant hippos designed to fight the onslaught with neon colors and large teeth.

Me and a friend were walking down the street once and spied an abandoned game of Hungry Hungry Hippos. We were wondering what would inspire one to chuck it away. Had all the balls been lost? Did the person's family happen to be trampled by hippos? "Noooo, not the hippos! Those hungry, hungry hippos! Get it away from meeeee!"

I'm sure the movie's volume level still won't be able to match the racket made by 4 people playing the game itself.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-10-24-lost-humanity-18-a-table-of-doritosThis was a really interesting article. Which is something I can't say about a lot of things written about video games. Anyway, somewhat related, but isn't there some controversy about some person on twitter who was called out on being in Square-Enix's pocket or something?

There's a forbes article about it.
The dude who wrote that article quoted a "game journalist" who was basically getting paid off by square enix to give good reviews for their games, and to generate hype
She threatened legal action, so he had to resign and the quotes were removed. Censoring free speech, especially when you're doing so because someone's exposing how fucking backwards and shit the game's journalism industry is* usually gets people going, so now there's a huge backlash against the "journalist" in question who threatened suit. She even blocked twitter comments and removed the part of her resume where she said she freelanced for Square Enix.
Rotten to the fucking core.
*"hey let's fund the critical response to games with the games themselves, and let's make sure no one can publish reviews that are bad because they will stop getting free access to conventions and stuff"

yeah I read that last night before it was censored, really enjoyed that article. was relieved when someone stood up against what a joke games journalism is.
can't believe that cunt threatened legal action, even sadder that eurogamer caved in to her empty threats.
