Destiny. "It's like Journey with guns" lol wut who said this? Guns are the complete antithesis of Journey, it's like saying "It's like Super Hexagon with a compelling story". I don't really get all the hype with Destiny either...

Extreme nerd mode engage: Doom was originally 320x200. Still pretty cool, though.

Extreme nerd mode engage: Doom was originally 320x200. Still pretty cool, though. It was designed as were many games of that resolution to be displayed stretched on a monitor of 4:3 hence working with a 320x240 screenshot is more accurate to the art as originally intended

Just something that has been bothering me, I have tried to google it but all I find is a bunch of internet arguments that don't actually solve anything. Anyway, I was wondering if, as currently resolutions are slowly moving past the limit of what humans can perceive at reasonable distances from the screen. If anti aliasing will someday become obsolete. It makes sense to me but I am kind of dumb

a lot of advertising stuff said that about 1080p, iirc
that's what the "retina" displays are supposed to be, too (even though it's an apple thing, you can sorta group other displays under that category, since it has set technical specifications)

Dithering becomes obsolete at 24 bits of colour. Don't trust what people trying to sell you stuff say about what your eyes can perceive though. (24 bits is actually not higher colour depth than most eyes can perceive in all cases.)

That makes sense, it is what I kind of thought but it's always nice to read someone else confirm it. I am looking forward to the day when AA is not needed then

By 24 bits you mean 8 bits per channel, right? Some gradients show banding with 8 bits per channel without dithering, like black to white, if they're significantly longer than 256 (2^8) pixels.

Yes. Like I said, it's not beyond some limit of human perception, like some still insist (thanks dishonest marketing!), it's just beyond the point where anyone really notices the resolution without trying, most of the time. Same thing with "retina displays" or whatever.

found a german interview with the head of the security firm: http://www.hna.de/lokales/kassel/security-chef-mitarbeiter-sind-sehr-zuverlaessig-2757385.htmlWho were the employees wearing Thor Steinar clothing?
Hensel: They were known to be very reliable and until the TV report did not attract any negative attention. (thor steinar is a neonazi clothing brand. the dude also says he didn't know that in the same interview.) also, the article rinku linked is inaccurate. the alleged nazis werent hired to guard the warehouses, they were hired by the agency to guard the temp workers' lodgings.

I've been getting kinda interested in interior design lately after rewatching 2001. I never really paid much attention to the designs in that film before, but after rewatching it they really inspired me. The sterile white and black walls with little splashes of color looked really appealing to me. I have this urge to redesign my house now but I feel like I'm to unorganized to have such a minimalistic house where having even one thing out of place throws everything off. Also furniture is fucking expensive.

According to kicktraq, it's trending towards $10 million, which is 33000% of their goal!

now this is the kind of kickstarter project I could get behind. They already have the product designed and it works, all they need is capital to get distribution. I wish more projects were like that.
