because i was continuing with this thread One of the main reasons why people play video games is escaping reality. So historical accuracy is probably not even wanted, certainly not in Diablo games.
Relatable and recognizable things give comfort to people. ya but why does it have to be historically accurate? if medieval fantasy games depicted their worlds according to the latest historical research on medieval europe, they would probably be much less relatable than they are now (tho they would be more educational),

i think nobody said that historical accuracy is important. Just that players don't give a fuck about historical accuracy.

the fmv cutscenes in the ps1 ff games were actually really well animated for the time. the awesome cgi was one of the main selling points back then 0/10
