Sorry, but I couldn't compile to Linux because apparently there's like a security thing where you need certain credentials in order to have programs running on Linux machines. I don't get why but that's apparently a requirement.

Game maker. Whenever I try to compile to Ubuntu(Linux) it tells me to make sure that all the settings are ok and redirects me to the settings for that particular platform. It then asks me for a host name, user name and password on a settings page.
Am I doing something horribly wrong?..

Figured it out. Apparently you have to have Linux installed on your computer first. Dumb, I shouldn't have to install an entire operating system just to compile a .EXE file. -_-
Edit: I'll try doing a virtual machine cheatsy-do, but I don't guarantee results.

you can't check for platform specific issues if you can't test the build so the advantage wouldn't be the that big anyway. you could compile to the platform but not really support it. |
