ironic, huh And When i say that africa doesnt exist , people dont believe me lol
I don't understand why though. I got art history in school and they definitely taught me that early 20th century artists got their style from African tribes. Exoticism was "in" at the time. People enjoy making their own narrative I guess.

I got art history in France at Bordeaux III and we were focused on European stuff like the "quattrocento italien" I dont recall hearing African stuff but i got there one year only so maybe i'm mistaken but i have definitly not the impression that people pay really homage to what africa brought in art. But that's me , i can be wrong. Also i was in art history in 2004 year Edit To prove my point people can go here http://www.u-bordeaux-montaigne.fr/fr/universite/organisation/unites_de_formation/humanites/histoire-de-l-art-et-archeologie.htmlBut it's in french and i was there very long time ago , so maybe they put africa in the mix

Yo okay
Maybe I'm alone in this but like
Bernie's supporters hyping up his authenticity and how genuine he is is just making me think he's not at all authentic or genuine, and maybe just really good at appearing to be authentic and genuine.

People enjoy making their own narrative I guess. Wilfredo Lam (Picasso's friend) ain't (directly) african (cuban) though, he didn't steal his style either He is so often misattributed to be influenced by picasso in style and it's the reverse (yay white people) as the style is influence by santeria typical style. edit: What I meant by not directly black is that his father was a well educated Chinese man (Yam Lam) but he appear more black that asian.

Next time, Mozart was GREATLY influenced by his master Chevalier de saint George who was a well rounded genius in many domain. So much influenced than His master's works are misatributed to Mozart (yay white people). I was so prestigious in his time it's baffling there is no mention of him in taught history ...

White man deemed what was important at the time. It had already changed by the time of the late 19th century. Luckily it gets recognized by historians.

Well those too are still in niche activism history books so far, it doesn't get recognized at all, that hasn't changed at all. Those two happen to have a relation with where I live (Martinique) AND i still didn't knew about them until the art schools, and then it's only because some old professor had actually known Wifredo in person and where fighting to rehabilitating his name.
