Can we elect to replace the term roguelite with pseudo-rogue? The former sounds too much like roguelike to be an apt alternative imo.

there was a tangential conversation on last week's giant beastcast where alex navarro posited that not a single nintendo property lends itself well to film, and i'm inclined to agree.
i could see a starfox anime (i know about the short) but that's pretty much it. a zelda movie would just be another bland hero's journey reskin with octoroks and shit, and who wants to hear an hour and a half of charles martinet mario talking? in that same podcast austin walker proposed a tarkovsky-esque pikmin movie, which i would watch, but would obviously never happen.

it's actually a much better game in every way except not having nintendo characters. it took until maro kart 8 before it could even compare

I like that people can make videos about games without putting sarcastic jokes in them these days.

Okay let's have a real talk, let's say you are playing mario kart
- there is 3 tiers of position - leading pack is having DEFENSE items - trailing pack is having OFFENSE items - middle pack is having ?? ?? ?? items?
How would call the middle tiers of items relative to fighting potential?

If the copy is an improvement it's a sequel.

Is it impossible to play Yoshi's Island on a modern console (e.g. the 3DS)? All I can find are remakes and sequels of the original game. Emulators to the rescue I guess

you can actually play it on the 3ds if you were part of the "ambassador program". it's the emulated GBA port though, which i don't really like because it has the annoying voice samples from yoshi's story and more "washed out" colors compared to the original. it also has worse controls.
i think you can play it on wii u too but im not sure.
so yeah anyway, emulator is probably your best choice.

I'm going to assume this is TIG's OG thread of OT (off topic discussion). If not, I'll show myself out.
