i don't know what a "mutant league" is. i've seen internet people mention it a few times and i've considered googling it before, but in the end i just simply have better things to do than google old cartoons.

a friend gave me his old childhood mega drive for my birthday once. problem is, i don't have a cable for it that connects to my modern tv, so it's been languishing in a drawer.

spending money on a gift defeats the whole purpose of receiving one in the first place. besides, he didn't gift me any games aside from one based on waly gisnep's the lion king which i last watched at approx. age 7.

Both Mutant League Football and Mutant League Hockey were fucking magical and I seriously hope they are making a new mutant league game (a good one, please). That said, Blood Bowl 2 is pretty awesome as well (even if it turn-based and more like a tactical RPG than a true sports game). The Bombing Run match type in Unreal Tournament 2003/4 was also fucking awesome (mixing american football with traditional blast-the-living-shit-out-of-everyone UT FPS gameplay).
What's really strange about it all is generally I dislike most sports games and I am not even remotely a sports fan but those games have just the right amount of twist on the formula that they are insanely fun. However, I did like Hockey, Tecmo Bowl, Base Wars, Baseball Simulator 2000, Arch Rivals, etc. on the NES (maybe because of how abstract they are) and NHL/NFL Blitz (primarily because pummeling the shit out of everyone is more satisfying that scoring goals).
Anyways, I hope there is some new Mutant League stuff coming.

The entertaining presentation and funny animations give the mechanics a nice kick and wrap up the package nicely.

1. this isn't really based on any concrete evidence, he's just insinuating that cdpr treats their employees badly based on wages in poland. i mean the videogame industry has a bit of a problem with that, so it seems plausible, but still...
2. regardless, this is basically the underlying problem with "gamer entitlement", or consumer entitlement in general. a better experience for consumers often goes along with worse treatment of workers. and obviously consumers with very high standards contribute to that. supply/demand and all that. for example, people got angry at bethesda ripping off obsidian over fallout new vegas's "low" metacritic score. but that seems hypocritical when it was probably the same people who gave metacritic that kind of influence in the first place by using it as a buying guide and refusing to buy games under a certain score.
the right of employees to be treated fairly (like that's ever gonna happen lol) is important, while the (moral) right of the consumer to have a perfectly smooth and pleasant experience is, well, nonexistent.

i agree, but in some cases (microtransactions, bullshots) the consumer entitlement is actually right about deceiving practices in the video game industry. the video talks about this too with no man's sky. a lot of problems consumers have would be fixed if the industry just wasn't shitty. the employees can't really do much about what their managers tell them to though.

The job-seekers are too focused on bunnies when they start a new job, they fall into the trap of hard work and dedication just so that one day there will be more bunnies. Think about it, the reason people think everything is great is because they see bunnies. We all live on the same planet as bunnies. If there were no bunnies, innovation would stop, the gravitational pull from the sun would stop. Everything is about bunnies, without it nothing is real.
