One of the reasons B5 was able to pull off all the things it did was that it was all planned out from the start- JMS basically wrote a novel sized outline of everyone's arc, and he planned for "well if this actor has to leave..." and "well if the show gets cancelled..." scenarios, so he would always be ready to give things a mostly satisfactory ending.  B5's "brilliant" writing was entirely rooted in one dude putting in serious amounts of basic hard work.

This is canon.  The only thing up for debate is who was better; Sheridan or Sinclair.
The bolding of one of the names is a blatant bias display, a dark pattern that potentially influences users to vote towards Sheridan. As such, I question the debate's integrity.

Sinclair is always better

OMG you put Voyager first???  The only good thing about Voyager was the emergency holographic doctor, the best startrek character ever btw (closely followed by Quark), but all the scenes he wasn't in were pants, the rest of the crew were weak.  Babylon 5 was the bomb, but what was the deal with them blowing their load on the big climax far too soon and then following it up with a really crappy plotline to take it to the end?

They got cancelled, and then uncancelled.

The psychics plotline was garbage and Byron is a stain
Marcus is also a stain because he's too much of a larger than life hero in a show where, up to that point, had prided itself on "yeah the real good guys are the schmucks who just do their job every day and wear boring uniforms"

Babylon 5 was best when it was "a good janitor can save a million lives by finding explosives hidden in a trash chute" and less "good...vs....evil....the ultimate conflict"

it's a close call between TNG and VOY, largely because of Picard and Janeway being awesome respectively. TNG's high points are some of the best things I've watched on TV or film. But there's so much darn filler, while VOY is much more consistent.

Also, I really don't like Quark.

Yesssssssss I can really get behind tt

Love babylon 5. I don't get the hate for season 1, it hooked me right in. I was devastated when they replaced Sinclair, but enjoyed all of Sheridans stuff anyway. The ending of his arc was super sad though. Leaving Bester unresolved felt strange but I read that they finished him off in a spin-off movie or book.

tng is easily the best, numbnuts

The acting in the first two seasons is awful, and some of the season one scripts are atrocious. Some of the season seven scripts are even worse.

But basically, if you take TNG seasons 3-6, there's some good stuff in there.

tng got better after roddenberry died, yes. still the best star trek show, i do say. and all good things makes up for any of the other season seven episodes; it's a world-class finale.

tho i wouldn't be surprised if discovery ends up better

TNG didn't get better after Roddenberry died. McRapeyGhost in a Candle trumps The Planet of Savage Black People in terms of cringeworthy awfulness.
