For 5 dollars an hour you're not going to find a babysitter, let alone a professional programmer.

While I agree the offer is not particularly enticing price wise perhaps some mix (royalties + a higher compensation) could work for someone like me.
Remember, you pay for what you get and a more experienced developer might get you there faster, more efficiently and with fewer risks/unknowns.

Like I get 5 bux an hour is an insulting wage for a programmer, but if the offer was framed as "I can pay a couple hundred a week for someone to help work on my game" it'd come across as less rude.  The larger issue is that a 3d MMO is a cartoonishly huge thing to tackle, especially if you're trying to string together a team on a beer and snacks budget.
