Hi!

Currently working on building an image as a studio, which of course means building a brand, which of course means making a logo.

Anyway, here's a brief I wrote when speaking to a designer friend of mine. If you want any additional info, feel free to ask me here or in a PM.

Company name: Jelly Machete
The company makes small scale indie/mobile games, usually of the arcade variety.
If I had to sum up the theming of the games into two words, those would be "action" and "wacky" (games I've made in the past involve a sumo waltzing game, or a game about hunting snails in space. That sorta silly thing).

In terms of colours, having something that can be made to work in just one colour is great.
Thoughts: I've always been a big fan of using juxtaposition of something silly with something more "action film". Hence the company name.
So having that juxtaposition be a central theme of the logo feels like it could be good to me

In terms of other logos I've looked at and enjoyed, I'm quite fond of Vlambeer's

And generally the idea of having some kind of silouhette against a background appeals to me, like Longshot's:

Haven't really given fonts or anything any thought, nor do I feel it's a necessary requirements, but if you want to suggest the typography for the name, go ahead. I'll be happy to pay a bit extra for that!

I'm generally quite fond of the flat 2D kind of design, with bright but limited colours (see: everything you see if you Google "flat 2D").
If it's any use, the art style I currently use in games is well represented by the general theme of my personal website here:

Anyway, if you're interested, PM me with your portfolio, and how much you expect to be paid.
And as I said before, if there's any more info you want, feel free to reply or message me with any questions.

Thanks for reading!

I used to think I was a failure. Then I discovered you can just buy trophies. Now I win at everything.
