Steel Empire (flicker warning) though it involves planes... and blimps. Also one of the few shmups where you actually have a health bar.

I updated the black background in www.QuantumPilot.me to "#222528". The result is less strenuous and easier to read bullets on the slightly less contrast background.

My favorites from this thread are Steredenn & Parity Shot for combining readability with style.
