Wake up comrades, it's Capntastic here for a new thread for y'all to enjoy.

Being a human that has not yet attained Buddhahood, I spend a lot of time thinking about the things I do not have access to in life. I think about breakfast a lot.  I think it's an important touchstone of all cultures, and my current situation, a lifestyle of waking up at 5am to go to work in a poison factory, prevents me from enjoying breakfast.

And let me be clear, that the coffee and granola bar I have every morning, sitting down at a poison covered desk to review poison calculation spreadsheets, is not breakfast.  The sugar block and brown hot water are just sludge to keep my body moving.  When I talk about breakfast, I think about a meal.

My grandfather served aboard numerous British ships during WW2, two of which were torpedoed into the ocean.  His worst memory was, as a new sailor, waking up every morning to some loudmouth shouting "let go of your cocks and put on your socks" as the wakeup call.  Their breakfast was the sort of thing you'd expect to find aboard a British military craft during World War 2.  He once asked for hot cocoa, and was told that not even the bloody Prince of Wales could get fucking cocoa in their situation.

Think of that echoing through my family's history.

And to this day I carry that onwards into my situation of being in a situation where only on weekends can I afford the luxury of preparing a meal.  It is a ritual act that ties me to the world.

What breakfast foods do you enjoy?  What breakfast drinks? Tread lightly into this thread because I take this seriously.

A bacon, sausage, and onion omelette oozing with melted cheese and hot sauce.

Pretty much the only thing my college did right in the cafeteria and close to the only thing I really miss after graduating.

I used to drink black tea for breakfast, but last year I drank green tea for a while because I had stomach problems and was told that green tea is good for your stomach. Turns out I actually prefer the taste over black tea so I've been drinking the stuff for over a year now. I don't add anything to the tea btw.

For food it's usually some muesli with milk or sometimes toast with jam. I can't imagine eating a "proper meal" for breakfast.

Breakfast is my fave meal and my main source of fibre for the day. About 50g of bran with 100g of Aldi sultana bran. Milk to taste. Sometimes warmed up in the microwave if its a cold morning.

always with black instant coffee, sometimes caramel flavoured.

Sometimes I'll push the fibre to a different meal and throw down some pancakes or bacon+eggs+hashbrowns. Christ I could live in hashbrooooooowns

müsli with sour milk, coffee, often try to get a fruit in there too. often on week days I'm running too late for that so I end up eating the lunch sandwich for breakfast on the bus

Just tea, please.
I used to make a yogurt, granola, and sliced fruit bowl, but it got to be too much sugar for the morning. My body tends to violently reject breakfast unless I don't have a 'breakfast' until at least 3 hrs after I wake.

Karaage-kun Red from Lawsons every damn morning.

It's 200yen. It's balls of chicken. It's spicy as fuck.

That plus a can of Monster.

If I'm lucky, I'll live to 35.

Well, I usually have some chilaquiles or some scrambled eggs with a cup of coffee, my mornings are a mess without coffee.
