Did you everythin in Unity? Whats the purpose of the game - how long did you work on the current progress? Smiley

Thanks! It's been about three months. The game is in Unity.

My goal is to make the most accessible colony/world builder sim.

It's open-ended, so there are going to be a lot of ways to play it. You could build farms and peaceful societies, craft machines, or set up monster beacons and play tower-defense in your bases. Eventually, I want to even put in summonable world-bosses that you could speedrun. I'm going to start a devlog thread today.

i like its pretty interesting, one thing i would fix is the distance that you can put objects around trees. Is the game gonna gonna have some sort of objective? also can i grab stuff that is below ground level?

Hmm, that sounds very ambitious Smiley What will be the goal for Milestone 1 of your game - in past, I've heard so much different Indie gamers that they want build up everything but at the ens they lost their visions due to lack of planning.. That shouldn't be meant as an verbal attack of course! Wink

What do you think?

@theproof I'm going to do a wider beta when I finish these things:

* growing plants/crops
* AI has all basic features (sleep in beds, forage for food, build things, fight, talk to each other)
* world save-load
* new world generation dialog
* basic tutorial
* polish pass (clean up art, make sure everything has sound, etc.)

@indominator you can dig up a block of ground by holding LMB on it; dropping blocks into the water will create new land. What do you mean by the distance around trees? If you can't drop an object behind a tree b/c of the height, you can rotate the camera with RMB.

New features are in the latest build! Here's a video detailing some of them:

* trees produce fruit! the start of farms...  Smiley
* AI seek out food and feed themselves; they also go to sleep at night and wake up in the morning
* terrain editing - dig blocks out of the ground and drop them in water to create new terrain

SOFT LAUNCH IS COMING

Beginning June 1st, I'll be sending out waves of keys for folks to try Modlands. The first wave will be sent to people who have joined the Discord, watched a Twitch stream and created a character. There are a couple more streams to do this before the 1st - usually the Modlands stream is from 5-8 PM PST, so come check it out. :D
