Short and direct, Love it! You guys are awesome, yet I'm still waiting on the first bad comment. Is there no creative hate towards this project? Here is the new Chubby Danger for the game. He will eat your sweets and not feel bad about it!

The bat is I'm a fucking zombie after this last work days, can't put my finger on what i like, what i don't like, anymore. Pffffff I know something is missing (lots are missing) but i just can't see it right now. On the bright side, the story is all good to go, I have all planned out with some few, small, exceptions. Next "to do" on the list are assets, fuck load of them, then characters, animations, then sound/music/text, then kill myself. I'm going to sleep now

Soon enough I will start posting some gameplay footage, for those of you interested. There is a little more work to be covered for a video worth watching, so this is why I'm going with the static screenshots. Sorry for that! Still a WIP. I would love to hear some opinions, if you guys and gals can share any.

Not a merchant, it's... a guardian, sort of . The current name for this thing is the Cropper and it's definitely not a hugger/lover. I love james blunt. Trust me.... James Blunt loves you back! Thanks for the love you beautiful, beautiful bastards! I'm going back to work (*whispers* no signs of having a gameplay vid this month................... i know, sorry. The programmer is MIA for a short period and i can't take his place, for my coding skills are not)

Wonderful beasts , I need your help (some feedback) for the visuals! 1. Does this scene gives you a certain feeling? (boredom included; "kill yourself" is not a feeling) 2. Does it feel like a part of a larger picture or just a big mess? 3. Would you move the character around or you would rather close the game and get on with your life? 4. Does it feel generated by the computer or handcrafted? Any other objections, ideas, so on, would help me a lot. *tip my fedora* P.S.: There is still a lot to add to this current build, so consider it far from ready.

Here are my first impressions: Compared to the other images, it looks boring because of the lack of enemies. It does look randomly generated. The environment in the previous screenshots looks good, but in this image, the various environmental barriers seem to be placed at random (i.e. doesn't seem to have a natural pattern to them). It reminds me of a few similar procedural topics. Instead of completely random generation, have certain pre-made "blocks" and arrange those randomly. For example, it looks good when you have two of the same type of barrier next to each other (horizontally, vertically and even diagonally) and also in many locations: and when there's a lot of them Also, seems like too many wheelbarrows (especially in close proximity). While, logically it may make sense that those would be there in a mine, it still seems to many. But those are just minor points compared to the overall good looking style and the other images. To speed things up and use random level generation, it's still better to have certain pre-made "blocks" and arrange those randomly. Even then some may not work well but if you can quickly generate a lot of them then you can manually select ones that work and overall speed things up.

Here are my first impressions: ... Wow! Seriously, thanks for taking the time to write this consistent feedback! It's heart-warming I'm sketching a semi-randomization prototype similar to Derek's in Spelunky, but slowly changing it into something personal. Currently i'm stuck but eventually I'll come back to my senses. Thanks again, io3. Much appreciated!

Wow, I adore art style! And it seems like you are striking a humorous tone that really delivers (both in the marketing and actual game itself). It takes a lot for me to warm up to a roguelike because I often find them more repetitive than I'd like and what often keeps me interested are the unlockables. For instance, I recently played http://www.curious-expedition.com/. You can unlock various playable characters and they all have very specific and different ways to unlock them. The game explicitly tells you the requirements for each one. I found this to be a really great thing because it completely shaped my playstyle on each of my runs. I know your game doesn't look like you'll be changing characters, but I think if you give the players a little more purpose than "see how long you survive in the procedural generated maps" you'll win over people like myself.

Thanks, mrandyjoe! I'm glad that my humor isn't off-putting to those following the game. That's also my problem with roguelikes, the repetition. I'm trying to figure out a way to make each instance look "natural" and not generated, this before adding other incentives like unlockables. Otherwise will be me covering my mistakes and I don't want that. Never heard of Curious Expedition before, it has a DnD vibe which i really enjoy. I might give the game a try after I'm done with this one.
