Hello to the TIGSource community,

My name is Thomas. I'm a game developper living in France. I'd like to present my puzzle game Pictopix. It's a game inspired by nonograms and Picross. The development is well advanced. There is a demo on the website and the game will be soon on Steam Greenlight.

About
Pictopix is a puzzle game where you use logic to color squares on grids in order to reveal pictures. Easy to learn and very addictive, the game starts with small grids and ends with big grids. With over 150 puzzles, his endless Random mode and its puzzle editor, Pictopix will bring you hours of fun !

Main Features
  • Play over 150 colored puzzles
  • Learn the rules with a fun tutorial
  • Unlock endless Random mode
  • Earn achievements for more challenges
  • Create your own puzzles
  • And share them via Steam Workshop

Other Features
  • Logically solvable puzzles (no guessing required)
  • Playable with mouse, keyboard or game controller
  • Switchable hints
  • Multiple save slots
  • Puzzles can be suspended and resumed at any moment

Teaser

Website and demo
You can download a demo on the website and for more info (screenshots, etc.) visit indieDB. You can also follow the game on Twitter and Facebook.

Thanks a lot for your attention Gentleman

Tom

Note: I'll update the post in few days when the game will be on Steam Greenlight.

Hi everyone,

The demo has been updated to version 0.9.10.

Now you can undo and redo actions when you're solving a puzzle! It’s very useful when you think you have made a mistake. With the mouse, just click on the buttons. With the keyboard, use Page Down and Page Up (or shortcuts Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Y). And with the XBox controller, press LB or RB to undo or redo an action.

This new option can be disabled in the game settings (and in Shuffle mode) and the history of the actions is saved when you suspend a puzzle.

Let’s see the system in action:

Some bugs have also been fixed.

If you like the game and want to play on Steam, support the game here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=784619268

Thanks!

Hi everybody,

The demo has been updated to version 0.9.11.

In response to demand it is now possible to mark squares temporarily to make it easier to count them in the row. To mark a square you can press the scroll button on the mouse or use the letter C on the keyboard or the Y button on the joypad

In this example the player counts the squares from right to left and then from left to right:

Changelog

Features
  • Temporary marking squares added.
  • Texts modified in the introduction.
  • Modification of step 9 in the introduction (mode expert) to present the temporary marking system.
  • The background color of the grid is slightly darker to improve legibility.

Fixes
  • The vertical movement with the analog stick was reversed.
  • Solving a puzzle and then going back to the tutorial produced an exception.

The latest version of the demo is available here : http://pictopix.tomlabgames.com/

If you like Pictopix, support the game on Steam Greenlight.

Thanks for reading Wink

Hi,

Pictopix is now available on Linux! You can download the demo on the website.

The game is also playable on the web. This version has less features than the downloadable version. For example, a puzzle can not be suspended and the editor is not enabled.

If you want to play Pictopix on the web, go to Kongregate.

Following players’ feedback, Pictopix has been improved. Here's the changelog for version 9.0.14.

Changelog

Features
  • The Linux version has been added.
  • The web version has been added.
  • The button “Play” is now unlocked at the beginning of the game.
  • The faded numbers are darker than before.

Fixes
  • When a solved puzzle was replayed, reinitialized and then left, it was no longer considered solved.
  • The save and the load of puzzle in the editor didn’t work on Mac and Linux
  • The XBox controller worked only partially on Linux.
  • Some textures were blurred (arrows in the Introduction and Temporary Marks during puzzle solving)
  • Texts didn’t display with Arial font on some computers

For more details, take a look at the steam page or tumblr.

Merci !

"Good job!" Smiley

Hey!

Pictopix is now available on Humble Store! Special offer to celebrate its arrival – 15% off!

Don’t hesitate to buy here – 5% of the profits go to charity and I get a higher percentage too Smiley

This announcement is also an opportunity for me to take stock. The game has been quite successful. Nearly three months after release on Steam the community has created more than 300 puzzles. The reviews on Steam are very encouraging (three negative opinions out of the 59 written reviews so far!) Practically 100% of those who have bought the game play it! I’m really very happy that the game gives pleasure to people.

Once again, my thanks to all those who have supported Pictopix!

Hey everyone,

I'm pleased to announce that I've released a new game mode for my game Pictopix: the Mosaics mode!

In this new game mode, players have to reveal three large mosaics. These pictures are composed of grids of puzzles. Solving the puzzles one after the other unveils small parts of the picture. When all of the tiles are completed, the entire image appears in color!

I give more details here.

Do not hesitate to ask me questions ^^

Sorry for the big image. I don't know if it's possible to modify the size in the message.
