Hi! Do you guys have any recommendations on any really good books about game design or game programming? I'm not looking for something too basic or necessarily very specific, I have made games before, I know how to program but I want to dig deeper.

Guess there might have been posts like this already but not that I could easily find.

Cheers!  Toast Left

http://www.thegamedesignforum.com/

I haven't read any of his books, but I've read some of his articles on design and game history and they're pretty solid in my personal opinion. I'm trying to be careful about getting too bogged down in theory, but generally speaking I feel like his stuff (again, the articles at least) makes good sense.

I just came across what you need, man. Look at this compilation of books: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19Dz1LNNzcGGHE1vELlAtQ4Smyv9-Yr1EnTM0Xl3yuyk/edit#gid=0

That link has also some videos and articles in varied topics, the book links are all for the amazon listing, but of all those, Game Programming Patterns is free in it's web version in case you were looking for free stuff. I hope this helps  Gentleman

I bought it a while ago, but still haven't had a chance to dig in yet.

I believe there's a kindle version too.
