Don't laptops all have touchscreens now? Couldn't you just move your finger a centimetre or two further and touch the bottom of the screen?

what whole presentation reminded me of blackberry trying to hold on to keyboard phones when everybody was moving to touchscreens. really weird that apple would be in this position.

My theory is apple never figured out how to manufacture keyboard keys cheaply and this is a way to cut costs of the most expensive components of the machine

if it makes you feel better he gave me an I phone 4 and also it was korean so it made an extremely loud shutter sound when taking photos to make sure you look and sound like a weird sex pervert. He got a android with the big style screen and now i do too but not because of failing old man eyesight just because this was the best budget phone i could get. I bought and flipped a play station 4 to buy this without playing it (personal honour)
wait. why would a korean not have a samsung. this story doesn't check out

Also, Apple isn't a company its a lifestyle
this is something i've never gotten. i use an iphone because it has a better kinaesthetic feel than androids (which never seemed responsive enough to me) and i use a macbook because the aluminum body build and inanely high-res screen appeal to me. but christ is an apple tv garbage and i'd never buy an imac (or any apple desktop honestly) maybe this is something other, richer people vibe about who knows yeah, i agree, when i got an iphone the kinesthesia from iOS was superior to Android and when i bought a macbook there was not a windows laptop as polished as the macbook pro line (not talking spec-wise, but overall), my purchases were not for vanity at all. i heard android have vastly improved in that department in the latest versions, and there are now laptops that are seriously competing with the macbook pro (hence the reaction of some diehard, old-school macbook fans on the new macbook pro), but for years the macbook pro and the iphone were among the best in their categories.

i'm not sold on the touch-bar because on some of the applications they showcased (like pages), learning shortcuts like cmd+(something) pays off in the long term (and it's keyboard-agnostic), since you don't need to stretch your arms as much so it's more comfortable and fast. i don't see the point of looking down in your keyboard in that dj app they showcased when the action is all in the screen, either. i guess i'll wait and see what cool things devs do with it.
that said, touch-screens on laptops do suck. on hybrids is another story, but that's because people use the touch-screen while they use the computer as a tablet.

I would one day like to see a mechanical keyboard where each key is a micro-display, that would be very cool.
My current keyboard has a light under each key which can be set to any color, being able to assign each key a full color icon/thumbnail would be even better, the displays could also play animations as feedback individually (per key) or as a whole "tv wall" kind of thing
That "clock-wipe" effect to show a spell cooling down could be going on underneath your finger on the hotkey for that spell
