Moth tails most likely won't be like this in the final game, but damn does it look cool

BALLS http://www.closuregame.com/Log/videos/2009-04-28%20Balls.swfedit: Puzzles like this are pretty fun to make, but the final game won't be too littered with them. I'll work the concepts into more fitting levels

which level name? try not to conflict with one that's already created, they won't load properly (except test.lvl, jump.lvl, and youtube.lvl), it's also fairly glitchy in this build.
Does the game part work? Tried it again. Yes, existing levels won't load (editor, game). But new ones open in the editor.

haha, how? fez and closure are both pretty different. in one, the light affects where you can stand. in the other, you can rotate a 3d-world and play it as if it's 2d. that's about as different as you can get; that is pretty funny.

I've tried it with various types of trails but they all end up distracting you more than adding to the mood. I'll play around with it more later.

I now have all the features that the flash version had in the engine, with the exception of doors that require 2 lights to open up. I'm gonna fix that up though, and rather than having a dark door, I'm gonna have a door with 2 pedestals next to it, so its more obvious when a door is "lit up" enough to go through. Same effect in terms of level design and puzzles, but more clear to the player. new screenshot

Spotlights + Balls Since I don't have button's yet, it's hard to make balls useful. But it's fun, in this one you can use your imagination to realize you have to get the ball down the slope, but you can't run fast enough to keep up with it with the light, so you need to guide it with the spotlight

Wow, this is looking awesome. When I first watched the video I was like "Hmm, so okay, doesn't blow me away." but then I realized that the light creates the areas you could walk and then I was blown away! Really really cool! The interaction with the dark and light is really unique.

Looking good. I like that you're showing the paths for the moving altars now.

Closure is at E3. It's just the flash version, but I gave jon the latest build of the new one to show off too. Also new posts http://www.closuregame.com/blog/
