- should be a tag and leave it up to posters whether they want their link embedded
- doesn't work in previews
- one has to rely on various workarounds to link a video inside text like this or to post a plain link (which retroactively left all old posts doing it broken)
- only specific youtube url formats work

not huge stuff when you know what to do but as it is now there's a steady stream of confused new users who have to learn and it's pretty dumb
