Step into the shoes of private detective Michael Thane as he sets off on the biggest investigation of his life. The year is 1938 - a mob war has consumed Umburgh, whose citizens live in constant fear as the warring crime syndicates vie for control of the city. In the midst of the chaos, a mysterious masked killer, known only as Whitman, has returned to the city after a ten-year absence.

Explore the frozen streets of Umburgh, where violence is just a fact of life and every back alley is the site of another macabre crime. The city's sprawling streets offer a multitude of paths and solutions as you take the fight to the remorseless crime syndicates that haunt its shadows

WEEKLY UPDATE (Nov. 30, 2016)

Hello everyone!
 
I am happy to announce that a lot of progress has been made since last week. Some of the key features we were able to add in our custom engine were:

- Swinging Doors
- Ammo/Food Pickups
- Hi-res Sprites
- Custom Typeface
- Realistic Weapons
- SFX







I would like everyone to welcome our official composer to the team, Josh Barron! Josh is a multi-talented composer and musician helping us create a very specific tone that helps tell the story. Next week I’ll be able to upload some work-in-progress tracks for your listening pleasure.



We have an official website! All of our normal GameJolt updates will be posted on our “Dev Log” page, as well as our social media pages. Additionally, we have uploaded lots of old and new concept art, as well as the current cast and crew working on the game. Visit http://www.fallenangelsgame.com! Weekly Update 3 (Dec. 9, 2016)

Hello everyone!

This week we were able to work more on the artsy side of things. Some of our teammates had to take some time off during this development week so we decided to start sprucing some things up a bit.

I would like to welcome Dana Corrigan and Guido Salto to the team! These two wizards are helping create our in-game cut scenes that will feature voice acting, immersive SFX and music to that will truly put you inside the city of Umburgh.

We are proud to announce that we are finally working on the first in-game level! In the coming weeks we will show off as much progress as we possibly can regarding the first level. Even though I can't reveal much, I know you'll enjoy what we've been working on!

We now have sound! First off, I would like to thank our talented composer Josh Barron for preparing a couple of pieces for us to show off to you. They're nowhere near complete, but hopefully you'll get an idea where we want to go with the soundtrack!

Just a quick one this week!

This week:
- completed screenplay
- prologue level 25% complete
- food and health pickups implemented
- bug fixes

Here is what we've been up to! Whitman and our team are hard at work!

We have:
- reworked the prologue level
- added breakable objects
- added custom particle FX
- muzzle flare on the gun
- custom in-game 3D models
- added flash light

The prologue level (seen below) is now 40% complete! And guess what? We also added a second level (secret for now) that is 20% complete!! We have also started working on weapon and first person view sprites.  Last, but not least, we have also begun voice over recording.

Hello!

If you don't know, SXSW (South By South West) is a world-renowned interactive media festival that takes place over the course of Spring Break every year in Austin, TX. As the developers for Fallen Angels, we have been chosen to represent Fallen Angels in the annual gaming pitch competition.

There were hundreds of applicants but only 16 finalists were chosen. It will be a privilege for us to represent Fallen Angels at the competition, to glean insight from industry peers, and to bring more notoriety to the game.

Black and White filter for fun!

We are entering the home-stretch for completion of the 1st level. Our goal is to complete it by March 16th for SXSW. So you can imagine we have been redoubling our development efforts.

In the past couple weeks we have:

  • Made adjustments to our script.
  • Completed registration with SAG-AFTRA, an actor’s guild that protects their rights and guarantees smooth partnership for both parties.
  • Overhauled the in-game character models.
