Fürwind is Greenlit !!  Hand Thumbs Up Right Thanks everyone for your invaluable support.



INTRODUCTION

Fürwind is a light-hearted platformer with a very classic aproach, colorful graphics and a gameplay for everyone. The game takes place in a magical world inhabited by intelligent animals.

Our goal is to introduce the player in a pleasant way and provide a harder challenge later.

A great evil has been awaken by a dark cult and they are threatening to destroy the balance of nature.
Our hero is Fürwind, a little fox, he is the chosen to restore balance to the world. He will learn powers and abilities to help him in his quest.

We have enemies with diferent mechanics and behaviour and many enviroment hazards.

Who we are?
 
We are Boomfiregames, a little studio from Spain. we have a game for IOS/Android called Kick Or Die and now we are working in bigger projects.

Game looks super cute, reminds me of Freedom Planet!

Great art so far. It can be pretty hard to get people excited about classic platforming nowadays, but if you keep up this quality and introduce some unique mechanics you should be able to do pretty well!

Thats right eidobunny, we are working to keep the art on this level and about the mechanics the goal its to keep a classic experience and of course with a fresh touch.

Hey ! happy new year everyone.

Time to get back to work !! and now this is our finished background. This is a key element to get a jungle-like ambient and get close to a finished look.
Its been a little bit of a headache in the beginning but thanks to the tile-magic we can say its done.



Everyone else has already said this but the artwork is great.

I really like everything about this with one exception: the particle effects look blurry, because they do not use the same pixel resolution as the characters and environments. Like they were taken from a different game.

We had some conversations about this topic weeks ago. To be honest, im totally with you but the particle fx lightens up a lot the animation work but we will work in making the fx look more pixel.

The DNA of the game is very light and is not going to be a long game so we hope to make a little classic experience with a touch.

Hello everyone !

We need a little bit of help deciding the placement for the hud elements, so here is a couple of mockups with top and bottom options.
The elements of the hud are the next:

-Left: A 3 hp bar.

-Center left: We will be collecting gems around the maps and they will be use as token of exchange for items or upgrades.

-Center right: Some kind of magical dust or ashes of unknown origin used to activate checkpoints around the maps.

-Right: Our abilities selector.

For some weird reason the art style reminded me of

but after watching the video nothing seemed to look like it.

Everything looks really cool, and the animation on the frog is the best!

My only comment / question is why did you gave his kungfu outfit the same color as the skin? Wouldn't a brighter contrast look cooler?

What about HP, GEMS, DUST on the left in that order, and abilities only on the right?

edit to clarify this game looks fantastic either way, and my recommendation of the two options you actually gave goes to "top"
