Best devlog:

Although there are many contenders including Moonman, Leilani's Island and Manifold Garden, I reckon Return of the Obra Dinn takes the cake. Constant updates with page after page and post after post of insight and elegant solutions to all sorts of problems that arise during development. It's a treasure drove for anyone new to or experienced with gamedev alike.

Favourite DevLog project

There are lots! NYKRA, Kerfuffle, Flotsam, Lode Runner: The Mad Monks' Rewrite, Return of the Obra Dinn and Pharaohs Return which I'm sad to see to be on hold right now. But my absolute favorite has to be tentatively called Driving Survival game. The atmosphere, dread and fear this game manages to create with its dark soviet-era-like environment, skiddy driving and brutal AI is phenomenal.

Best Devlog

This year,  my pick has to go to No Truce With The Furies. Not only is it a fascinating concept, with a compelling original world, awesome art style, and a deep approach to dialogue attempting to make conversation as engaging and complex as combat is in other RPGs, the devlog is updated often with detailed posts and breakdowns of systems, art, and world-building. An ambitious project with a well-maintained devlog

Favorite Devlog

Going to second Driving Survival. The bleak atmosphere and intense pursuits in its GIFs always make me excited when I notice the devlog has a new update

I'm not here long enough to cast a vote on the absolute best devlog, so I'll vote blank there.

However, my favorite is very obvious to me, it's my healthy competition, it's none other than the game that got me to this forum in the first place:

Dang it, I haven't been keeping up this year as well as last year. :[ But I'm probably going to go ahead and say Moonman too. It has a lot of nice technical details and I've had some interesting chats in there. And it's been steadily updated, of course. Another nice one has been Suzy Cube. Impressively regular updates and a solid game. I really can't pick a best versus favourite tho. It's a thin line...

Best devlog:
Return of the Obra Dinn

Favorite devlog:
Leilani's Island

The Return Obra Dinn devlog is just an amazingly detailed account of the development of the game, best I've seen so far, and there are a lot of great ones here!

I wish I had more of a hidden gem as my favorite, but as a Yoshi's Island fanatic I just love Leilani's Island, and I'm looking forward to playing it some day in the far future Smiley Until then I'm loving seeing all the fun gifs and incredibly juicy little touches that's already present in the early version.

Best: Katana Zero

Favourite: Irkalla

I'm aware that my choices are similar, in that they are heavily pixel arty. And to be honest there are games that serve better as DevLogs than Katana Zero but, damn. just damn.
