Hi folks, Been a long time since I posted on here but a lot has been happening. I recently submitted to the EGX leftfield collection & below are some shots from the build I created. I also created a short video with some footage from the build, link below!
So what is next? I am going tp fix some bugs and start making the EGX submission build into a EGX showcase buid. This will also be the build that gets used for the Kickstarter that I am planning to launch around the same time. Im going to try and do a better job of posting updates on here but for the up-to-date news follow me on twitter Any retweets and shares are very much appreciated, as the more people that see it the more chance of it being funded when the KS is live! Cool skulls Visually it's looking great, but I was expecting something a little more fast paced on that video, maybe it's the lack of music or maybe it's because it's early in the game. I dunno. Still, looks fun

I defintely want to play around with player movemetn and timings of spawns. Some real easy fixes there to speed it up.

So I have been really bad with updating this thread (I do most of my updates on twitter) but here are some of the latest additions. First up - a soul crate. These give you additional Souls to buy weapons with. Next is a demo of a distance to enemy based dither effect for the muzzle flash. This allows me to have chunky VFX but not worry about player visibility. Below is the Blood squid and is the first completed enemy. It has a bonehead so you have to pivot around it to shoot & kill it. The movement is a placeholder. I will post more updates as they happen, including potential Kickstarter plans.

Looks really cool, nice bold color scheme. Does the bonehead part of the squid hurt you on contact? Only reason I ask is because you've set up a really strong dichotomy so far between enemy/terrain, good/bad, touch/don't touch. Loving the gritty vibe of this so far :D

I love the color pallet of this game. It's unusual to see something like that in a first person game. Definitely getting a cool Doom or Quake vibe from the gameplay.

I don't know that I love the new filter(s) and dithering in the Kickstarter video compared to the old footage you posted here, but I get what you are going for aesthetically (and it certainly comes down to a matter of preference). Anyway, backed and best of luck with the Kickstarter!
