Hi. For past 2 years I've been working out on my game. And now is complete, all I need is name for my studio. In the beginning I want it to be call mojo studios, or mojo game studios. Since I found that second name has been taken, simply I'm stuck in namless limbo. My main goal is to make adventure games, point and click and new digital story comics like policenauts or snatcher.

I like sound of word mojo 'coz I want to tell stories thru my games that are so funny and addictive so simply that they(those stories/game) are charming player. Like old Lucasarts games or mentioned snatcher.

And now I came up with idea. What if I name my studio digital mojo, is it legal? Also will it be confussing for players if there's 2 smilar named game studios?
Every form of help will be appriciated

Judging by "Apple", just a common fruit to eat, it doesn't really matter. So even "nameless limbo" can be an option instead of being the state you are in.

The acronym doesn't seem to clash either:

are you willing to get the domain name for it? because it's like $19,495.

usually players don't really care about the studio name.

Quote
-trademark's guiding principle is "do not confuse the consumer"
One of the factors courts look at to determine likelihood of customer confusion is whether the two businesses are in the same industry
-Trademark rights are established on a first-come, first-serve basis.

So if mojo game studios think at some point that your mojo digital is too similar to their studio name, they might send you a cease and desist letter.
DigitalMojo might send you cease and desist letter too.

It's up to you to see if it's worthy taking this small risk of being obligated to change your studio name at some point.

Using your own name or initials is often a safe bet, and adds a personal touch to your identity.

How about coconutz? I know that mid 80's- early 90's was japan game studio called coconuts japan entertainment. Sadly I cannot find any info if they still in video game industry. I'll be happy if someone dig up more info about that.

Limbo is named limbo but if its a non-state than "nameless" is redundant
mojo is a slang for sperm, and it a good name, so i sugggest "Game sperm"

I suggest the name "Electronic Arts". It's elegant and catchy and caputers your intent to make games with high cultural value.  Grin

Hmmm didn't know that. In that case, how about Ubi Software?

"Ubi" is the latin word "where", so your name would mean something akin to "where the (good) software is".

Literally just use an RNG to skip to different pages of the dictionary. Re-roll until you get a catchy combination of words.
