~ QUESTING: A GOOD QUEST IS HARD TO COME BY ~

is an RPG with a plot that needs more writing and a boy named proto I'm very excited about it and i plan to keep it around no matter how long it might take me.

CURRENT PLOT:
ur just a little guy with a bowlcut who's got a strong hankering for some quests but a good quest hasn't come around since the days of knights and kings. start from odd jobs and chores and search for the real quests only a true hankerer like u can find.

this is my first game to make in unity and there's plenty that needs to be made so i'll build myself a checklist that will most likely be added to and crossed off a whole lot.

CHECKLIST:
- more items
- more characters
- more areas
- a dialogue system
- a combat system
- a house
- a leveling system
- a furniture store
- a gold buying company
- a questing sytem
- a story
- dialogue to guide said story
- sidequests

stick around and maybe you'll catch this game getting better n better  Tongue Hand Thumbs Up Right

fighting a baseball player

shopping for fresh rags

an inventory for items

an entrance to a spooky forest

inventory colors are adjustable and now has translucency to avoid confusion

new robat and icons for items

also the guy's name might be proto right now i just have it as short for protagonist but idk

I definitely dig the style of 3D game with flat billboarded 2D sprites. Reminds me of Delver (which I also believe was created in Unity). With a little more character and story, this could turn into something cool. My one criticism is that I feel like your characters don't really look like they fit in their surroundings. I would expect there to be a lot less color and detail in your world if you plan to keep the characters to the simple 2 colors per character look. It seems like your environment is much higher fidelity than your characters and it looks kind of jarring to me. That being said, I understand this is all very early. I'm keeping my eye on it though as it looks like there is potential here. Good luck!

right now my idea is to have every dynamic and interactive part of the game will be 1-bit, 2 color, contrast and the world around will be more cozy and detailed somewhat like cartoons where the background and static surroundings are painted in detail while the characters and the objects they interact with are drawn and filled rather than being shaded in detail and texture

I see, well that sounds like a good idea. I'll be sure to check when you start posting screenshots of all of that in action.

whaddup whaddup i do not work very fast

added dialogue system, walking animations, and a doggo!

walking the dog will be quest number one so that's the next step!

(cursor isn't there in unity IDK)

I  :-*LOVE Kiss this art style! I hope you DO keep this project up as it has a lot of personality! You're using unity or a custom engine?

The graphics literally made me laugh. Keep the sprites as they are, they are unique and recognizable plus the game looks really funny. Looks like an interesting project, keep us posted.

Posting to follow. It seems like you've got a good sense of what you want this to be, and it vibes.

Gotta love quests
This seems like a fun game so far, really charming and rather cute. Honestly I can't get enough of questing in any type of game so I'm looking forward to playing this one.

Also that is a nice doggo. A very good boy.
ps. congrats on passing calculus. I refused to take that class because I'm a wimp tbh and math is my sworn enemy.
