also how has this thread gone on for so long without anyone mentioning doom and other early first person shootgames?
bc pretending to be a computer and pointing out that there's TECHNICALLY nothing triple dee about doom is super boring after a while

I meant in terms of combining 3d rendering with 2d sprites (which is what this thread is about)

the disgaea series and the atelier series both use 3d environments and 2d sprites, generally with incredibly over the top animations
