I feel like I've definitely seen the first few images before...did you have another Devlog, or am I going crazy?

Either way, it looks like this is coming together nicely!

The title accentuation is killing me. @_@

Seriously though, this is looking pretty great — gives that vibe of going into the unknown. Nice artstyle and monster design, too.

I actually really like it! But I see how it'd be annoying to type all the time. Maybe you could keep it for the title screen/in-game stuff, but just type it out normally?

Cool, I didn't know this would become a rogue-like. Can't wait  to see what monstrosities await us in the RNG.

I was looking for a way to communicate with the player. To show hints and/or tell some kind of a short story. So I made a little text balloon..

Been working on a snow/ice theme. Pretty happy with the result.
At the moment the icicles aren't destructible, but that shouldn't be to hard to implement. So coming soon Beer!

Haha seems fun. What if you do that the spiky green enemy damage the purple one with some of its spikes?

I second this. Such tactics would be perfect for a rogue-like.

Sounds like a plan! I could make it so that if a bullet hits the green one it would be set in motion and do damage to other enemies that are on it's way.

Unfortunately the release of this next prototype took longer then expected. I made some simple changes, but this affected much more things then expected. So I had to fix all of it before I could release. And then I got sick, so that sucked. Anyway it should all be done now. For the next prototype I'll try to come up with some new enemies and/or weapons.

Fixed
- On some (older) machines, the first prototype was running way to slow.
- Small issue which could cause the player to get stuck in the walls.
- Jetpack particles spawned at a wrong position when being sucked into a portal. Due to the speed this was hardly noticeable though Wink

Changes
- The size of the mooncave has been reduced from 80+ rooms to 50.
- The number of rocketparts is now 20 instead of 24.
- Changed the parallax background settings.
- Changed the appearance of the background mist fx and moved it to the front as part of the fog of war.
- The searchlight got a little bigger and it's appearance changed a little bit
- Instead of using the mousewheel to switch between the 3 weapons slots, you can now also use the 1, 2 and 3 keys to select a different weapon slot.
- Grenades now explode faster.

Added
- Text balloons. The Major can now give the player some small hints or scream like a little baby when getting sucked into a portal.
- Snow/ice cave theme.
- Shoot the green spiky enemies to set them in motion and use them to hurt/destroy other enemies. Be careful not to get hit yourself though.

I like the story set-up, and game looks nice. Good work!

EDIT: That music though. Props to the composer as well!

Liking that back-firing mechanism. For every action there's a reaction.

Got skill level 5. Is that good?

Thanks! Glad you like it Smiley The composer is TeknoAXE. You can use his music license free. It will be replaced by other music at some point though. The songs are called Eight_Bit_Commando and Space_Vacation (I like this one Smiley)

Skill 5 isn't really good (sorry). You either got hit some times very quickly or you spend to much time wandering around.. It's important to kill as much monster as you can, as they can supply you with more air.
