Thought I would share a more stylized concept render of one of the areas of the game. There will be many of these "Weather Domains" in the game world, full of different characters and enemies to face. They will also introduce some new mechanics along the way that will increase the actions available in battle, as well as some exploration opportunities.

I think with Miyazaki's heavy "sky" or "wind" based themes (Castle in the Sky, Nausicaa, Totoro, etc.), I can absolutely see the influence as I said before. This latest concept art is GORGEOUS!

I cannot wait to explore these towns!!! It'll be neat to see what's hidden inside the vortex Smiley

This looks great - those ~5 years were worth it, by the look of things. Love the character and concept art - can't wait to see more of this!  Beer!

Just posting some additional concept art! Working on building common world areas, and exploring level design. Had some help from a member on my team, but will probably need to level up in level design myself, or bring on a level designer possibly Smiley

Hey everyone! Sorry, it's been while since I've updated my Dev Logs, but development has definitely been going on!

Here's an older recording of me tackling some physics related stuff for smoother platforming

I've also wanted to show some progress on my game's battle system, which evolved to be a lot more of an action/beat-em-up type  thing. I went through several iterations to get it to where it is now:

In this video, I was working mostly on getting combos to land better, but was still working on keeping enemies airborne while caught in a combo, etc, as well as making air attacks connect more automatically.

In this next one, I finally managed to implement some stuff to get the player character to connect his attacks better, but in that demo, it's acting more of like a handicap:

I started introducing placeholder effects, such as sound and particles:

I've even implemented tastier combo physics and more animation states:

The top down view is spectacular! The "2D movement" to "3D movement" is wonderfully done. Reminds me a bit of Super Mario RPG regarding the top-down view.

Great work!

Oh, I absolutely remember this game! I'm so happy to see you still working on this gorgeous title! Is the music still being made by Aivi? A piano soundtrack sounds almost too good to be true!

Commenting to follow just because of the cloud city. Well, and the animal drawing styles, which is strangely enchanting even though it's not my normal style.  Kiss

I'm glad you remember, it's been a while! She has done a few tracks, and there's also some additional folks on board too!

A small little post, but here's a test gif I created of an example animated dialogue profile image that will appear in textboxes.

Here are some thumbnails of some of the platforming sections.

As well as some concept work of Breeze using one of his abilities!

I managed to get a fancy website up this year! http://breezethegame.com/

Outside of that, I've been making an effort to update my devblog as well, but I'll be keeping this DevLog going as well!

Here's some rough animations from a month back of Breeze:

As well as concepts drawn while developing the keyframes:

Here's some concepts for two of the game's character's Easton and Weston, both are rowdy managers of an area of the game called the Wind Domain.

Lastly, here’s their character theme, written by the talented composer, TUDD!

The city in the clouds concept is great. Interested to see how you simulate and animate the clouds around the city.
