Oh man! The characters, especially, look great!

What drew me in is your description of "well humored". One of the best part of classic adventure games from days of old was the humor.

I can't wait for more! :D

In a sense, the environmental aesthetic reminds me a bit of Luigi's Mansion.

Did that have any influence?! I'd love to hear what's driving you to make this :D

Yes, it is one of the inspirations.
I really like the first Alone in the Dark, I guess that aesthetically, that´s the main inspiration.
Love the games from the Sierra and LucasArts era.
For the "almost recent" ones, I loved Machinarium, for me, it´s a masterpiece. (kinda old, I know)

Looking great so far. I would like to see more interaction with environment, perhaps tipping over the bottle made the floor all wet? Burning a rug on accident, lights went out on fireplace etc all cool stuff you could do. Also as for the logo, it definitely could be improved from a design point of view.

Thank you for the feedback!
Yes, I still scripting the events, that gives a lot of work. (I've written up your ideas Smiley)
For the logo, yeah, I guess I've made something "decent", but it can be improved a lot. (Ideas are welcome, always)

Absolutely love classic style point & click adventure games and this looks like it could shape up to be quite fun. Definitely the humor is an important element. I like the art direction so far. Keep up the good work! Smiley

Ok great. I think a good idea would be to make it so that you have a cute cockroach mascot on the middle on the logo. It's easy to say but good execution is another story, ask a good designer or illustrator if you have problems Smiley Currently its not really saying much about your game and looks almost clip-arty, that's the biggest thing I guess.

Thank you, I really appreciate Smiley

Posting the assets I'm creating on Houdini to help the level development.
For the rooms, I can change the room shape, ground and wall style with parameters.
Also, other reusable assets as doors and stairs follow the same principle:

(I'm not the expert on Houdini, but I may release these bit messed up assets on the future for who wants to study them)

Hi all! I've made some progress:

*Have worked on living room lightning
*Finished almost all the inventory mechanics (you can use items with objects, but not mixing with other items yet)
*Finished room's transposing mechanics (you can move from room to room)
*Finished room's state mechanics (the room will be exactly the same way when you come back)
*Improved LUA scripting interface (will talk about this on a future post, the objects interaction is made with an external script, in this case, LUA files)
*Added the option to skip dialogs with mouse click
*Started working on save mechanics
*Started working on the main hall Smiley

I love how the dialogue is nonchalant (in place of large text boxes a la JRPGs) and above the heads of the characters.

Also, that bird is A+. I love how "IDGAF about anything" his face is  Cheesy
