Wondering if anyone can recommend some effective ways to promote a pc game on Steam?

this is kind of a vague question. it's like asking 'hey guys do you know good ways to make money?' -- you have to realize that the best way to market a game on steam depends on the game, on your resources (funds, time) available, on how well known your past games were, on your social connections, on all kinds of things. asking for the 'best way' to do something without any context at all doesn't make any sense at all
