this game is Indie As Fuck. it diverges from the crystalline perfection of transformers: devastation in terms of action but there's a real intangible, fascinating quality to it. its a great experience. thats my take after playing an hour

it looks like dragon balls z and similar japanese cartoon shows but i will eventually play it regardless
the original nier wasa very weird and very flawed game taht still had its charm. this one looks much better mechanically.

would i get more enjoyment out of assaulting japanese men with bicycles in Yakuzo? undoubtedly. but there is something engaging about the anime robot game.

the entire drakengard series (including nier and automata) always has some damn cool underlying stories and although the combat in nier was a little broken at times it was still fun at least. Definitely going to pick this up, glad it's actually coming to pc finally, even less reason to use my ps4, lol |

playing nier then drakengard 3 should be enough, i enjoyed drakengard3 and think it is a really good game but it's not an unanimous opinion, and it's not really primordial to understand nier automata.
Nier is worth playing though.
