Anyone remember that part where I think 2B or 9S says something along the lines of the machines that stayed connected to the network got corrupted by loud/negative voices and the disconnected were able to live in harmony because they weren't exposed to it? First thing I thought was maybe that was a commentary to people who spend too much time on social media.

Joe did you see Baby Driver it was the typical Edgar Wright bag of tricks but without the Foul British Comedy Men mucking it all up

hey just thinking about one of the Good ways in which this is thematically linked to its predecessor: one of the inspirations for the first was 9/11 (lol) and the themes of language, dialogue, and understanding permeate it throughout. however in the sequel everyone speaks the same language but you are immediately shown that this changes absolutely nothing and there will still be slaughters en masse because of robot Racism

Nier director Yoko Taro and producer Yosuke Saito have been working together since Drakengard, went into production in 1999. Keiichi Okabe, the composer behind Automata’s haunting, idiosyncratic score, has been working with them since the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 game
