I am making a game inspired by viva pinata that will allow players to cultivate a garden from a dilapidated patch and raise it to a healthy ecosystem of plants with creatures roaming around.
The goal is to release a free to play alpha in the coming weeks with very minimal gameplay elements so I can see what people like and what can be improved with the interaction style and what feels good to players.

This weekend I did a few quick things:
- Set up an inventory / tool system that allows the player to click on a tool and have it follow their cursor, aka use it
- Make a small garden patch out of three patch types: water, grass, and dirt

Plans to come for an alpha:
- Dry / cracked soil patches
- Digging ponds
- Growing grass
- Seeds
- Plants and watering mechanics
- Maybe a start by adding an animal or two, following some viva pinata mechanics of residency / romancing

ps if anyone has suggestions for names I would love to hear them I am still trying to figure out the name
