Hi, guys.

I've lost my license with a broken computer so now i'm desperately seeking out one. Bought and tried GMS but can't really work with it due to large compile times. And there is no legal options to buy a license anymore. So if any of you can give (or sell) me a license i will really appreciate this.

If there is another way to get license please let me now.

Got a license, now trying to clear out if it can be activated.

The license servers for Game Maker 8 have been shut down on August 31, 2013. So even if you get / buy a license from someone you won't be able to use it.

So i can't use a cracked version and i can't activate a bought version. Excellent...

Why can't you use a cracked version? You did buy a license, which doesn't expire. The only barrier in front of you right now is a technical one due to their servers shutting down. You can overcome that through piracy, but you technically aren't doing anything illegal since you technically already bought a license. That's what I've been doing to work on old gamemaker projects of mine.

A friend gave me a 8.1 license key and it worked (on game maker 8.1 of course)...

I asked yoyo if it still possible to activate license but they're keeping silence. So either you still can activate license or it was a bug of some sort.

Why can't you use a cracked version?

I'm afraid that there is a way to see if the game was compiled on a cracked game maker. I don't want any risks.

A friend gave me a 8.1 license key and it worked.

Starting with 8.1 they switched to their own license server / solution instead of relying on a external party. That's why 8.1 does still work.
