Log #1 - Attack/Chain SystemYour chain increases by destroying enemies in a short timespan. This automatically spawns debris and enemies on your opponent. Smaller chains may drop a bit of debris, and large chains could spawn a wave of drones to barrage your opponent with gunfire. This is called "Normal Attack". As your chain grows, your power increases. Larger chains earn you more power. This power is stored in a reserve that can be used to fire your "Special Weapon" directly at your opponent. If you achieve maximum power, you can use it all to trigger your "Super Attack". This transforms your ship into its boss formation.

I dig those graphics, portraits are cool too. The first thing that jumps out to me is worrying about the big ship's hitbox. Is it just like a central pixel or is it the length of the nose? The current design doesn't make it quite clear.

Which ship are you referring to? The hitboxes are the same for each of the regular ships. Currently it's a circle with a diameter of 6 pixels. The hitboxes on the boss ships, however, vary depending on the size and shape of the ship, and generally span across the entire sprite.

Log #2 - Stage 2This is a couple of screenshots from a new stage we're working on. This is your view as you ascend through Earth's atmosphere: Player 2 uses a bomb to clear the screen:

Man...this looks damn nice!
I am useally against such overdesigned stuff but look good here. Maybe the dithering on the sprites a to much (but the sequencing on the attacks is awsome...sorry for nitpicking on the art D:)

If anyone is attending BitSummit in Kyoto this weekend, Rival Megagun will be playable there.

Log #4 - Nested enemies Lately we've mostly been working on refining the existing systems and pumping out content like stages and enemies. The newest function is nested enemies. That's enemies that can spawn more enemies. Here's a gif example:

I wanted to post a video but I can't embed this video on the forum unfortunately, so forgive my Twitter links. Here's a gif preview: - Short video here. - Another video here (This one is a full round, but still pretty short because I'm bad at my own game apparently.) We also now have a Discord server!

Looks really cool and difficult I just followed you on twitter. Is there a single player mode too, or will you always need an opponent?
