Mercury Fallen

Manage a group of colonists as they attempt to survive underground in an alien world. Automated machine construction was sent ahead to create the Mercury facility, but something has gone wrong and your colonists awake to find the facility in ruin. Build structures, recover technologies and send out expeditions to the surface to ensure the survival of your new found home away from home.

Content and resources are no where near final, but is playable. I'm at a stage of development where I definitely need some general feedback to see what does and does not makes sense. And so I present a playable alpha demo of the game:

Alpha Demo

While I've been working to create a stable alpha demo there are likely to be issues and/or bugs still in the game. There is a lot more content currently being worked on as well as new features like planetary surface expeditions.

Would greatly appreciate any and all feedback. You can respond here or contact me directly via the contact form at http://www.mercuryfallen.com

Howdy folks.

I've recently released an update for the alpha demo which resolves a lot of bugs and adds some additional features. More info available on the Mercury Fallen website. Thanks for checking it out. Smiley

Howdy Folks.

It took longer than expected, but I'm happy to say that the 1.2 update is now available on Itch.IO! The biggest amount of time was spent on a complete rebuild of the colonist behavior system to fix up existing issues and ensure expand-ability as I continue to add new content and colonist actions.

There are a lot of other great fixes and improvements including storage containers can now be placed anywhere, better profession leveling, better hauling and a lot more. Check out the release notes below for a full list of updates and fixes.

Hiya there, This is a great little game, I just have one problem with it - It needs a save feature, I spent a bit of time on my little man-cave to have it go to waste.
I love the game, but not having a save feature ruins it a little.

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! It definitely needs a save feature and is something I'm working on.

Is there a save feature yet? I'd love to see it implemented.

Tried it for 10 minutes or so, the first thing is that the game is not that playable if you are a lefty. I ussually use the arrow keys and these do nothing compared to the wasd keys, so I had to play with my arms crossed.
The game could really do with a small tutorial of sorts, I wasn't really figuring out how to mine the walls for example perhaps give some feedback in what requirements the player is missing.

Hope it helps,

Arjen

You are a lefty and you use the arrow keys? That seems counter intuitive...

Well I use the mouse in my left hand and place the mouse left of my keyboard... Most lefties use this setup, I get it why people would be confused but we're just kind of inverting the setup right handed people are using. It really helps for left handed players to be able to change the control setup when we're using keyboard and mouse, as the mouse is ussually placed left of the keyboard.

There is a save/load feature in the game now, but is not made available in the demo version.

The game has key binding options now for remapping keys as desired.

The game has had several updates so far with a lot more to come. The alpha version is available now on Itch.IO.

If you have any feedback/suggestions I would certainly like to hear them and can be contacted directly here.
