Good day.
We have been developing this horizontal shoot 'em up with a parallel timelines mechanic. We have been working in Unity 5 from the beggining.

Edit: Steam page just launched, the demo can be downloaded through the Steam client: http://store.steampowered.com/app/635590/Vulture_Strike/

Today we released an updated version of our demo (v.0.91).
http://vulturestrike.com/downloads/

Upgrades include:

1 - Player hit-box has been made more visible.
2 - Damage feedback has been improved: we added a more visible visual effect when you damage enemies. This is an aspect that was criticized by players who tried v.0.9 and it has been noticeably improved. Also, explosions in general have been made more flashy, which changes a bit the "feel" of the game.
3 - The destroyed version of the environment from the first level has been re-worked to appear more devastated than before; however, lighting has been tweaked in both scenes to minimize the contrast between them. This was done because, when practicing level 1 for high scores and opening many consecutive Wormholes, the rapid change in the lighting and overall brightness of the screen was exhausting for the eyes, which might cause stress on the players. So, the scenes themselves are much more different from each other now in terms of detail and geometry but the colors/ lighting were tweaked to generate less contrast. Function over form.
4 - Player ship has been made very slightly smaller. It is now a tiny bit easier to dodge bullet clusters.

This looks pretty good so far! Next chance I get, I'll try out the demo. I think the 2 parallel timelines is unique and I can't think of another game that has a feature like that.

Thank you for taking the time to check the game!
We took inspiration from Gekirindan which has time travel (not controlled by the player like in this case) and Border Down which also has "different instances" of a level but implemented in a totally different way.

Today we updated the Steam demo, fixed a minor bug that some players experienced, did some balancing in the levels and changed the look of the Wormhole.

Greetings!

Wow, this looks crazy action packed for sure. Nice art style too.

That timeline concept does look like an interesting twist.

My only concern is that old people like me probably don't have the reflexes for this anymore. Think of our aging gamers! >.<

Hey, thank you for checking it out!
There is a "normal" difficulty option which is easier than the other settings  Beer!

Thank you again.

Good day.
We have just updated the demo, it includes several improvements like an in-game user guide and more polished visual effects. Also the Visions system has been improved: the shader for the enemy visions from the parallel timeline has been modified:

I hope you consider trying it out if you like shmups.

Good day.
Today we could finally update the demo to version 1.0, release date for the full game will be announced soon.

Improvements for this new demo include: much better performance, balance and graphical tweaks, added an option for practice mode to start with up to 9 lives, minor bug fixes and a few additional rendering options to allow the game to run fine on monitors faster than 60FPS.

I hope you consider giving it a try if you like shoot 'em ups: http://store.steampowered.com/app/635590/Vulture_Strike/

This looks amazing, I love Border Down and it's interesting to hear it's an inspiration for this. Great visuals, and I'll check out the demo ASAP. Keep it up, this looks very good!
