A wip of mine that still needs a lot of work, now exclusively for tigsource and ma buddies!
So it is called elloweener, and you could see it as a mix between my old game archer and the great madhouse made by my bud phubans. ( http://www.madhousegame.com/) The player picks a character, and then either goes killing bosses and waves in story mode, or goes for a nice arcade match with endless enemies. I'm quite happy with what I've currently got, the game is just as I want it to be, allthough some things (Fire shrinking) are temp and stuff. Need to add weapon dropping (how, suggestions?) more enemies and some bosses/conversations with bosses. That's right, every character will say diff stuff to the bosses. Also need to make the characters special attacks. The laser is an example of special attack. You can tell it's very early on but I think this has a lot of potential.. I especially like the style of the character portraits and the weapons are pretty cool. You seem to have planned most of what I would have suggested anyways, which are waves and bosses to give the game some structure. Look forward to seeing this in further development.

It's the slordig guy!
I have no middle mouse button so couldn't check what it does.
Is there any way to get more ammo? I couldn't figure that out.
I don't think you should let the player walk off the screen.
The leftover remains from the enemies should probably gradually disappear, otherwise it slows it.
I find the laser the most fun, especially before I figured out that the mouse aims (I was just trying to kill them all using the laser in a single direction, trying to get them to walk in the right spots for it).
I like the music.
Even in it's unfinished state it's the best arena shooter I've seen for the Game Maker.

Press E for more ammo.. even though it says this in the top post, it took me a little to figure that out as well.

Does the game have a plot, or just straight action? What other types of enemies are you planning for it?

Mainly just about zombie jesus rising and you fighting his evil minions and then him. There will be conversation between characters and the bosses, giving away a bit of what's going on. Don't expect too much though. Thanks for the replies everyone!

It's really smooth and fun, but it seems pretty generic to me. I know its early on in the development, but I hope you are making some plans for some original ideas in there that would seperate this from any of the other areana shooters I've played. This game does have a lot of potential so keep working on it!

Work done: Added unlockable character system. Weapons drop. Explosions BOOM. More stuff. Escapader is gonna make a soundtrack for this. <3

Not bad, not bad at all... I see you have numerous feature to add, which is good. The game has potential indeed, I hope to try a full verison soon Do you have any plans on maiking different enemies and behaviors? How about different playgrounds? Later!

Different enemies yet. Playgrounds I don't know. Wouldn't really add a lot would it. And walls would mean rewriting enemy ai. (Not much work but still...) Movie can be found here, at my dev log. <3

Different playgrounds isn't that bad of an idea.. I know a lot of arena shooters stay in the one arena for the whole game though. I've always seen variety in environment as a good reward for the player though.

Woohoo demo. downloadFeatures 3 playable characters and the zombie mode.
This really shows that I need more enemy types to make it more interesting. Also powerups will be added. EDIT: Used to be wrong file, now it's the newer one.
