Hello this is Pencerkoff

Any chance of having a bracket for people that suck at drawing?  I'd join if I were amongst like-minded fools. 

Maybe a pixel-league for people not willing to handle more than a 320x240 size page.

This is pretty much what I did for this comicompo. I consider myself a pretty mediocre artist, so I decided to pixel some stuff and scale it up a lot. Might not have been the prettiest page in the compo, but at least it's a page. And it was fun! Smiley

So what are we talking about... like each page is a story card?

Most of these cards are ridiculously arbitrary and don't make a lot of sense.
Like:
"Use the text (lettering) in a visually expressive way."
"Use a lot of small panels."
"Use a diagram."

Unless you filter some of these it wouldn't be that fun. But otherwise it sounds look a good idea.

Well, the only thing that's really needed for the next comicompo is the opening set up, and I'm not even sure if we need that anymore.  As long as whoever gets the first page(s) doesn't just fill it with tigforum and internet memes it should be fine.

Or how about this: The Comicompo is divided in two phases: in one, half of the artists draw some random pages, just whatever comes to mind. In the next, another set of guys is tasked to bridge these together, being shown two of them. Like:
First set 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1
Second set 12121212121212121212121 will fill the blanks between the first pages.

This sounds like fun, though there'd be alot of preassure on the Number Twos.

This is true, and I think we should keep "normal" comicompos as they are, but there are alot of good ideas for variation here. Gentleman

The problem is that it takes a heckalotta time if, say, 50 artists sign up. In, for example, my model, it could be completed in something like a week.

The time will be about the same if it's 50 artists doing one page each or one artist doing 50 pages.

Yes, but if 50 artists create 50 pages at the same time instead of in order, much time will be saved. Wihch is what I meant.

if i can make a suggestion which i'm going to even if i can't, I think we should reduce the time limit to ~3 days for each page. 5 days is too long to wait for 5-6 people to fail in a row.

You get 5 days to do 1 hour's worth of work.  Back in my prime, I'd pump out a whole comic book in 5 days with nothing but the shirt on my back and a box of crayons.

as much as it pains me to admit it, the pinko is right. we can do more in less time!
