Probably last obvious visual progress for a while: added the CRT shader back in:

This specific version of it feels like something you'd play in a submarine during WW2:

Also added swiping support and tested the whole game on Android and it seems to run fine!

Made the selection level a bit more apparent, probably still needs something:

Also added different types of armour, which are only visually distinct for now:

Got nominated for the Ludicious festival!

It's all fantastic except for them asking for an A1 size promotional poster and since the game is tiny, this basic collage is the best I came up with:

This shifted my focus on polish until then.

Got the game into a more complete demo state, now with full 20 minutes of gameplay.

With 38 levels, all it's missing is some sounds and will probably be the same for when the game is released.

Also patched (not yet in the demo) the inability to see which enemy has a sword using dots:

That was pretty awesome! I played the demo. The beginning was a bit boring, but the later levels balanced that out.
Still, I have not understood the story, except that there is a thief that has a love, but instead is f**king a bunch of nymphs.

Quote
I have not understood the story

Yeah, the story exposition is my definitely something I'm considering as the game's weak point at the moment.

To sum it up (spoilers), the current iteration goes like this:
  • You lived in a small village
  • Got caught for thieving
  • Sentence for thievery is life in the dungeon
  • When shoved into the dungeon, you're told to search for Etyliv, a (considered) mythical creature representing hope
  • While in the dungeon, you grow delirious, start seeing things
  • You meet someone you'd expect to be the mythical sorceress
  • You attempt to explain how you found her
  • The nymphs in this case would be other creatures you've met, similar but underwhelming in comparison

That's pretty much all there is in the current demo, there's more, but it's much more likely to change based on the mechanics and subsequent levels.

Thanks for playing.

Had the chance to participate in the Ludicious festival as an exhibitor in Zürich. It was the most amazing experience. So many interesting people genuinely interested in video games. Got a sizeable list of to-dos to cover before the release in May. First time I got referred to as a the developer. Good times. Now back to work.

Made the first few intro levels for the flying mechanic. Shows the different-to-wingless interactions with tombstones and skeles.

It’s kind of interesting how I can post the exact levels along with their solutions of the final build and people won’t understand what they’re looking at until they actually play it themselves anyway. 3 inputs in and it clicks.

Beautiful! And the intro level for flight looks great for what's needed.

Started working on adding a secondary, perma-death mode for the game. Didn't know what to put in as the reward so it became the length of your name:
