From my limited experience you expect controllable outcome where pure randomness reigns supreme. Wide range or oblivion of your posts only loosely depends on its content - it sure has to be sexy, but "weird" sometimes does it as well - and more on accidentally dealing critical damage to one viewer with a serious following in the first minutes so that the algorithm thinks this post generates more interactions than usual.

Regarding Twitter this seems plausible enough to me. So a re-tweeting person with 20k followers becomes an influencer.
But on reddit it has to be a matter of timing or three-day trend or raging collective mood ... but nevertheless unpredictable.

This looks seriously cool! I love the spacecraft design and the dark atmosphere of the game. The parallax scrolling works really well too and really creates an impression of a huge asteroid field. Too bad I missed the beta...Wishlisted in Steam! Best of luck with the launch, the most daunting phase of the game dev process...

True, it is daunting. Thanks for your encouragement! Smiley

Fortunately you don't reveal your game suddenly at launch. You give it to test players, gaming press and youtubers in advance and you get all sorts of feedback. I suppose this gives you a foretaste.

The game is complete, live and playable. Release was on Monday. It was - and still is - exciting. Crazy Grin

Thank you all for your feedback, playtesting, encouraging and so on! Toast Right

Btw., one thing that really stands out imho is a review on Rock Paper Shotgun.

And this is the launch trailer:

Congrats on the Release, good luck! The trailer makes me uncomfortable somehow, though. Game sounds seem so distant, the music on top feels disconnected like a standalone track. I like the slow start, but I fear that the average audience is quickly bored and leaves before the action starts. Then the music fades out and another music starts for the game title... it feels weird. Maybe it's just me, though.
