Youtube finally decoded which videos I'm looking at and accurately guesses what videos I'd be interested in. It was working yesterday and just now. It is picking decent subject matter related to things I've searched for, unrelated to the current video, and still somewhat randomly out of channels I've seen in the past month, but I don't actually subscribe to.

Has this been happening more often to other people?

hmm, now that you say it, i noticed it too. Week ago its just filled recommends with other videos from a channel you just watched, now it seem to be using your google search and site visit history more.
although i think once got recomend thats eerily similar to the text of unpublished post on tigsauce, so heads up.

I think at this point suggestions and ads are based on your reaction physical to online content sourced from facial recognition on your hacked webcam

I try to manipulate the recommendations by watching my sociology videos in safe mode to avoid the flood of dumbass redditor rebuttals and it helps a tiny bit. I've also opted out of tailored recommendations on every platform but we all know that's fake

It astonishes me that there isn't an "I watched this ironically / accidentally" tick box that excludes a vid from influencing recommendations.

Oh so you watched a video about game design? Well certainly you would then also be interested in THE TOP 10 BIGGEST BOOBS IN VIDEO GAMES (WARNING: EXTREMELY SEXY!!) 29,064,827 views

I think there's a button for that actually. Let me check.

Edit: Yeah, if you hover over a video, there'll be a three dots icon you can click, and from that a single drop option appears that says "not interested". Try doing that a few times. It seemed to work for me for Family Guy video recommendations. This only works on videos on the home page I believe.

Yeah it's gotten better. What bothered me a bit was being used to the recommendations and then.. a couple recommendations that the closest thing would be my google voice messages to get the referral from. Hm..
