PvZ is a quite simple game. you have to defend you house (and brains ) from the zombies by using an whole arsenal of leafy weapons and similar. its bit of and mixture between an RTS and an tower defense game with a few other genres mixed into it. the adventure mode lasts about 7 hours but after it comes a whole bundle of min-games puzzles and even your own garden. the game is cute and actually really funny if you played insaniquarium you'll quickly see a lot of likenesses such as collecting sun and getting a new plant every new level. its a good game in short and it got an adorable trailer:

I really liked the promotional video for this. I'll give it a shot sometime later. Looks amusing, if nothing else.

So it is true.
Dolphins are out to kill us all. Their cute, friendly faces are all just an act.

I'm addicted Not sure this game can be considered indie as PopCap is an actual company.

It certainly has their trademakr 'casual' look and feel.
The demo is pretty fun though.

We've been making cybernetic enhancements to our bodies for centuries, soft one. We're superior in every way.

Anything can be great. Nothing is inherently bad. Also, something vs something is a trend, I guess. It makes money, so they do it.

Meh, it has some style but it's a simplistic tower defense at it's core. Don't get me wrong, it's a decent game but not worth all the hype. The mini games are a nice touch too.

I'd argue that the level of polish and the amount of attention that PopCap has paid to metagaming elements and alternative modes of play is actually quite stunning, and makes it a lot more complex and rewarding than it otherwise could have been. The game has a moderately-sized ruleset, but I think that the merits come in the amount of ways that PopCap has managed to combine these rules, forcing the players to try new things and urging them to take on challenges using money and the chance to purchase extra weapons for that killer difficulty mode as an incentive. The game, at least for me, has also struck that elusive difficulty curve of allowing players to progress fairly quickly (beating a level after one or two tries), but making them feel that they really fought for their victory at the same time. Of course, I could just be talking a load of biased bull anyway: for me, this game is like meth. Stuffed with crack. With a sprinkle of zombie. I know that the game is casual (and that term invariably carries certain connotations), but I think it's clear that a lot of love and effort went into this title. PopCap may be casual, but I've rarely found them to just "phone in" on a title.

I liked the demo so far. I don't like many games. So if I like this game, it is a good thing. Very good. Polished, intuitive and entertaining. It should serve as a fine example to game developers; even if it is a casual game, it doesn't mean it isn't worth the attention.

I've played the demo for the full 60 minutes and I thought that the difficulty curve was too flat for me, but other than that it was really good. It seems too basic and simple at first, but it's great how at least in the adventure mode it gradually gets more and more varied and interesting, with new elements in nearly every level. That's a really nice concept, as in Tower Defense games you usually have most stuff available from the beginning, and then the games just throw more and stronger enemies at you. Cool game and likely very much worth the price
