Why not?
You don't necessarily have to make an FPS. The first Duke Nukem games were platformers. You could also just slap common sense in the face and make a Duke RPG or RTS or whatever.
Or maybe even a Take-Two/3D Realms Sim game where you have to make your employees stop playing WoW and actually make your goddamn game.

This is a splendid idea for a compo. So ah, entries have to be in by sometime around 2021?  Now is the only time a DNF compo could really be done. A couple more months and everyone will be over it (except the hard-core fans, and of course the ex-3DRealms employees). We need a list of vaporware games though. Off the top of my mind: Warcraft Adventures DNF Sims Online Advent Rising 2 Fallout Van Buren maybe even Daikatana (the daikatana that was advertised, not the one that was released ) Commander Keen: The Universe is Toast! |

By the way, Alan Wake I know it's supposed to come out but it's been years... Also, Tiberium, the C&C FPS.
