Redo Earth uses the geolocation and compass of your phone to display the elevation around you. It runs in the browser using threejs. It is sort of like x-ray vision for buildings, allowing you to see the terrain through buildings and trees and stuff.
https://www.redoearth.comYou can choose a spot and start remaking the world the way you want.
The game is currently a working prototype missing a few features.
I am looking for feedback about the following items:
Can it be called a game at this point?
Is the building fun enough that you would keep using it?
Does it work on your phone? Is the compass backwards?
How do the controls work for you?
Requirements:
Browser with WebGL. Phone preferred. If you don't allow the site to geolocate you, it will send you to the grand canyon.
Requires signin with google account. - you can use the site without logging in now.
Currently only works in the USA (getting the elevation data and processing it into a usable format is maybe the hardest part of all this)
Doesn't seem to work on apple laptops with intel graphics cards.
The game is here:
